For gaming laptop madness, the Lenovo Legion 9i comes with an RTX 5090 and a 2D/3D display.

Lenovo may be most famous for its venerable ThinkPad laptop series, but the PC company has also built a solid reputation for making gaming laptops. Our colleagues at PCMag had high praise for the Legion Pro 7i Gen 9 16-inch laptop late last year. Now, Lenovo has a ferocious-looking new version of the laptop, known as the Legion 9i Gen 10. This model features a 2D / 3D screen, an Nvidia RTX 5090 GPU, and an Intel Core ultra 9 275HX processor. It’s Lenovo’s new flagship, showing what the company can do with today’s killer hardware.

One of the most interesting components in the Legion 9i is its massive, 18-inch display. It boasts a slew of features that, together, let you customize your laptop much more than a typical laptop screen can handle. Want to game in 4K? Sure, and you’re good to go with a 240Hz refresh rate. Willing to give up the excellent resolution for smoother gameplay? The Dual Mode feature lets you quickly pump up the refresh rate to 440Hz, getting you ready for competitive gaming in an instant. (That is, mostly ready. Skill doesn’t seem to be included.)

Interestingly, the Legion 9i’s display also offers 2K 3D, making it a worthy pick for engineers and designers. And you won’t need 3D glasses, thanks to the onboard lenticular lens array and eye-tracking capabilities. Lenovo says the laptop will support 30 games in 3D, but hasn’t detailed which games you can expect to see.

Another noteworthy feature is the Forged Carbon laptop lid, as Lenovo calls it. The lid is made from eight layers of carbon fiber, making for a look that is both gamer-centric and elegant.

Your laptop’s hardware will be as top-notch as its display. As we mentioned earlier, it comes with an Intel Core Ultra 9 275HX, up to an RTX 5090 GPU, and three memory options: 192GB (4,000MT/S, 4 x 48GB); 64GB (5,200MT/S, 2 x 32GB); or a single 32GB 5,300MT/S module. All memory is DDR5.

You have plenty of storage options, with room for upgrades down the road. Lenovo says you can work your way up to 8TB of storage with the three PCIe Gen 4 slots and one PCIe Gen 5 slot onboard.

The laptop’s keyboard appears to be gamer-friendly, with swappable WASD keys that have 1.6mm travel distances. It runs Windows 11 Pro and has two Thunderbolt 5 ports. The SD card reader is a nice touch.

Lenovo expects to make the Legion 9i available in the US in Q4. It hasn’t released the pricing for US customers yet, though. That may be related to questions about the tariffs, which have already affected other laptop makers’ decisions. But we have a clue as to the eventual US price, thanks to Lenovo’s price for the Legion 9i in Europe, which will arrive there next month. The laptop will start at $4,499 EUR (including VAT), so if it’s roughly the same in the US (and if the China-based Lenovo doesn’t pass the massive US tariffs on to its customers), the flagship laptop could start at around $5,067.
